Custom Cardboard Boxes: Printed, Wholesale & Fully Customizable

Your packaging is often the first thing a customer holds, so it has to protect what’s inside and represent your brand well. We design custom cardboard boxes for US businesses, built from materials matched to the product.

Every box starts with a conversation: size, strength, print finish, and budget. From single-color printing to full branded artwork, our packaging gives growing companies a way to look established without paying for short runs they don’t need.

  • Material and structure matched to your product
  • Custom sizing, from small retail cartons to large shipping boxes
  • Free 3D mockup before production, with samples on request
  • Production and shipping support nationwide

What Are Custom Cardboard Boxes?

Custom cardboard boxes are built to a buyer’s exact specifications rather than a generic stock size, dimensions, board type, print, and features like windows or inserts. “Cardboard†spans a few materials, paperboard, corrugated fiberboard, and kraft stock, each behaving differently under weight and handling. A custom box is engineered around the product: a cosmetics brand needs a rigid, presentation-focused box; an electronics shipper needs crush resistance.

Cardboard vs. Corrugated

Paperboard is a single, dense layer of compressed fiber, think cereal boxes. Corrugated board uses a fluted layer glued between two liners, giving it cushioning and stacking strength. Paperboard suits retail presentation; corrugated suits shipping and anything fragile or heavy.

Types of Custom Cardboard Boxes We Offer

Corrugated boxes use a fluted inner layer to resist crushing under stacked weight, the standard for e-commerce fulfillment. Folding cartons ship flat and assemble at packing, common for cosmetics, food, and small retail. Rigid boxes use a thicker greyboard core that holds its shape, chosen for gift sets and premium cosmetics.

Die-cut boxes are custom-shaped to your product or branding, including windows or built-in handles. Printed boxes carry full-coverage branding with interior printing for a more deliberate unboxing moment. Mailer boxes combine corrugated durability with a self-locking design needing no tape, suited to direct-to-consumer shipping.

Sizes, Strength & Material Specifications

There’s no fixed catalog you’re limited to. Small boxes run roughly 2x2x2 to 8x6x4 inches for cosmetics and samples; medium 8x10x6 to 14x10x8 for apparel and kits; large 16x12x10 to 24x18x18 for shipping and bulk retail. Anything outside this is built to order.

Strength is measured by edge crush test (ECT) rating, and matching it to actual product weight matters more than picking a size “to be safe.†Roughly: 23 ECT suits packages up to 15 lbs, 32 ECT up to 25 lbs, and heavier double-wall board (44 ECT) up to 40 lbs. Oversizing doesn’t just waste material — carriers often bill by dimensional weight, so a bigger box can cost more even when its contents are light. Larger boxes also need stronger board, since panel strength drops as size increases.

Printing & Finishing Options

CMYK printing builds color from four ink layers, suited to photography and full-color artwork. Pantone uses pre-mixed inks for an exact color match. Digital printing suits smaller runs with no plate setup cost; offset lowers per-unit cost at higher volumes. Soy-based and algae-based inks are available as lower-impact alternatives without a meaningful quality difference.

Finishing includes matte lamination for an understated look, gloss to make colors pop, spot UV for contrast against matte, embossing/debossing for raised or recessed detail, and foil stamping for metallic accents.

Wholesale: Pricing, MOQ & Bulk Orders

Our minimum order starts at [insert MOQ — note: several competitors advertise no minimum at all, worth matching if feasible], with die-cut and rigid styles sometimes carrying a higher minimum due to tooling. Per-unit cost drops as volume increases, with the lowest pricing at 2,000+ units. We’re upfront about what drives the price, board strength, print coverage, and quantity.

Standard production runs 8–12 business days from artwork approval; rush is available at [insert rush timeline] for an extra fee. We keep your approved dieline on file, so reordering doesn’t mean starting design from scratch.

Design Process, Industries & Sustainability

Customization runs four steps: share requirements, review a dieline and free 3D mockup, approve a sample if needed, then production. Our team can build a layout from your logo if needed, accepting AI, PDF, and EPS files. If an order doesn’t match agreed specs, we’ll rework or replace it.

Cardboard packaging serves e-commerce brands where the box is part of the unboxing experience, retail brands needing shelf-ready durability, food and beverage companies needing food-grade materials, cosmetics brands prioritizing presentation, and wellness brands needing clean labeling. Cardboard is widely accepted in curbside recycling and naturally biodegradable, and we offer kraft and recycled options for brands prioritizing their footprint.

Why Choose The Grand Packaging?

Plenty of suppliers can print a box. What matters more is a predictable process, accurate timelines, consistent quality across reorders, and someone who answers when a deadline shifts. We bring experience across retail, cosmetic, food, and e-commerce packaging, quality control at each stage, sustainable options, and pricing that scales down per unit as orders grow.
