Lip Gloss Boxes

Custom lip gloss boxes are printed cartons for lip gloss tubes, wand applicators, pots and gift sets, specified around a product that is liquid, glossy and easy to smear or leak. We produce them in cardboard and kraft with tuck-end, sleeve, window and magnetic-style formats. Orders start at 200 units.

Lip gloss packaging has two jobs that pull in different directions. It has to protect a product that can weep or leak in transit, and it has to look premium enough to sit in a beauty display. Getting the structure right at the quote stage is what keeps both true.

Protecting a Product That Can Leak

Gloss is a liquid or gel, and a wand tube stored on its side, knocked in shipping or warmed in a delivery van can weep around the cap. The carton cannot fix a poorly sealed tube, but it can limit the damage.

• Fit the carton to the tube. A snug carton stops the tube from rolling and knocking, which is the main cause of cap loosening in transit.

• Use a fitted insert for sets. A custom insert holds each gloss upright and separate so tubes do not rub against each other.

• Choose board with a smooth, wipeable finish. Matte or gloss lamination is easier to keep clean than uncoated board if a tube does leak.

• Test with your real product. Order a sample, fill it with a finished gloss and leave it on its side for a few days.

Label Copy That Has to Fit

A cosmetic lip gloss sold at retail needs a statement of identity, net quantity, an ingredient list, and the responsible person’s name and address. Under the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA), each cosmetic product label must also include a domestic address, domestic phone number or electronic contact information (which can be a website) through which the responsible person can receive adverse event reports.

On a slim gloss carton, that is a lot of copy for a small panel. Send us your final wording at quote stage and we will size the carton and set the type around it. Confirm exact requirements with your own regulatory advisor, since we are a printer and not a regulatory authority.

Pricing and Minimum Order Quantity

The minimum order for custom lip gloss boxes is 200 units. Magnetic formats, inserts and premium finishes may need a higher run.

To control cost across a shade range, keep one carton size and dieline and use a printed shade label or colour-coded print, rather than tooling a new structure per shade.

How Your Order Is Produced

• Send your requirements. Tube or wand format, exact dimensions, single or set, your label copy, quantity and stock.

• Receive your quote and dieline. Structure sized to your tube, with an insert if needed and panels laid out around your required copy.

• Place artwork and approve the proof. We check bleed, colour mode, resolution, fold lines and that ingredient and contact text is legible at printed size.

• Request a physical sample (optional). Order within 30 days and the cost is credited back. Put a filled gloss in it before committing.

• Production. Printing, coating, die-cutting, window patching, insert assembly and gluing.

• Quality check and dispatch. Flat-packed and shipped to you.

Standard production runs 8 to 12 days after proof approval, plus transit.
